The Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire is delighted to announce the return of Redpoint Worcester as Programme Sponsor of the Worcestershire Winter and Summer School Games.
The School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport and get physically active. The Games are designed to build on the magic of 2012 to enable every school and child to participate in competitive sport and in this Olympic and Paralympic year which sees Tokyo 2020 only around the corner, we hope it manages to harness this excitement within Worcestershire.
The Worcestershire Winter School Games are set to see over 1,100 children – ranging in age from 7 to 17 – go head-to-head in their own mini Olympics, battling it out for the title of Worcestershire School Games Champion in different competitions.
The Games will be supported by a team Young Leaders, helping to organise and officiate activities on the day, as well as a team of budding reporters, photographers and video journalists, ensuring the entire event is focused on young people.
Scott Smith, Chair of the Local Organising Committee said, "The School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to participate in more competitive school sport."
"We are absolutely thrilled and very grateful for Redpoint Worcester's continued support and sponsorship of the Worcestershire School Games, which continue to go from strength to strength."
