Your At-Home Spooktacular Halloween guide

We know planning half-term activities for the kids can be challenging so to save you some time, we have collated our 5 favourite at-home Halloween ideas to keep the children active and entertained!

1. Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger hunts are super easy (and cheap) to plan and set up and always go down well with the kids, they can even be done indoors! Why not hide Halloween treats around the garden or home to get the children (& adults!) active? Perhaps you could print paper skeletons and hide the bones around your house. For an extra challenge, can anyone reassemble the skeleton?

2. The Ghost is 'it'

A crossed between Tag and Hide-and-seek, this game can be played outdoors or indoors (if indoors, we recommend playing in the dark to add a spooky, yet safe, atmosphere!). All players hide except the ghost (it). When the ghost finds someone, they yell 'there is another ghost' and the person also becomes a ghost. This carries on until all players are found, or until players choose to move positions and hide again. The ghosts may choose to dress up and 'haunt' the other players.

3. A Spooky Adventure Walk

Why not head out for a late afternoon walk before it begins to get dark and notice how your senses heighten when light gets low. See what you spot lurking before dark… Can you spot any bats, black cats, ghosts or cobwebs? Don't forget to listen out for rustling in the hedges, footsteps, werewolf howls!

4. Halloween musical chairs

The traditional game of 'Musical Chairs' but with a Spooky Twist! Replace your usual music with haunted hits (we recommend 'Thriller' and 'Monster Mash'). Instead of sitting on a chair when the music stops, listen out for a scream. When you hear the scream you must find a chair!

5. Dance!

Simply get up and dance to spooky Halloween music! Or perhaps, when watching any Halloween movie and a song comes on, you have to dance along to it.

Witch-ing you a spook-tacular Halloween!
