Strong and Steady Exercise Classes are designed for people who feel unsteady on their feet or have had a fall. The classes aim to improve strength and balance, and also to help people feel more confident when out and about. All of the instructors who deliver classes on behalf of Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire are highly experienced in delivering activity and most importantly are enthusiastic about working with adults and mature populations. All instructors have completed an extensive training programme and have gained qualifications in 'Postural Stability Instruction', a level 4 qualification governed by Later Life Training.
Kimberley is one of our instructors that delivers strong and steady classes. "I wanted to specialise as an instructor, and after research decided helping people keep there independence in there later life was the best gift you could give somebody", explains Kim. The benefits of being instructor are described by Kim as, feeling "pure joy when seeing results, and watching their faces light up each week as they socialise and progress together. You feel like you have an extended family as the weeks go by, and they gain trust in you and their fellow participants. There are such strong friendships built!"
This is a fantastic example of #GreatCoaching and we are incredibly proud of Kim, and the other instructors, contributions to the Strong and Steady Exercise classes.
